9 Jul 2011 to 9 Jul 2011 - Tilford Village UK, Tilford Village UK, Tilford Farnham
Tilford Village held a Fete on the village green in Tilford, nr Farnham, in Surrey on Saturday 9th July. The Fete was run by the village for the village, but also drew in people from the wider community, particularly the parents of the children who go to its junior and middle schools. There was a full programme of events on the Cricket Square, ranging from dance and gym displays, through to family games (space hopping, javelin throwing and slow bike ride etc) and a dog show. The Green was ringed with up to 40 stalls selling wares, advertising good causes, and included a children’s fair. Other events took advantage of the river running through the middle of the village were a duck race and a raft race. In the evening there was live music and dancing, and the villagers brought picnics and all the families enjoyed a great community event.
While the purpose of the fete was to bring people together, they combined the event with charity fundraising, for which FAB was a beneficiary. For more information visit their website – www.tilfordvillagefete.co.uk.
